First and foremost, I am sorry to all of my subscribers whose inboxes I have flooded with [New Post]: e-mails; however, it was not in vain. I mean, would you want to waste away your last day of summer with nothing to show for it? Exactly, neither did I. Unfortunately, this is the last post of my summer vacation. I kept the first two short and sweet because, quite frankly, I had spent so much of the day doing things that I hardly had time to put together decent blog posts. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience. Alright, let’s get on with the list item.
This idea was a variation of a list item I saw on another bucket list… the finger painting part was my idea. I just loved how contradictory the idea really is; I mean, who wants to waste a whole canvas on a finger painting? It’s the perfect blend of childhood whimsy and, dare I say, sophistication. However, with an analytical mind like mine, it was hard to just let the slippery pigment just flow through my fingers. With every slight imperfection, I felt dismayed. Once I even became so vexed that I just rubbed all of the colors together into one big blob of gray, resulting in painting #1. As I began to distort the next canvas, I tried to create an even flow, which ended up in a failed attempt to balance the gray of the first picture. The overall outcome was a bit of a letdown – definitely no Sistine Chapel. Surprisingly, the second picture looks halway decent in my bathroom. I’m still not sure what the fate of the first picture will be. Heck, it was an experience, and I had fun doing it, even if Michaelangelo is rolling over in his grave.
Love & Summer,
