It’s official… I am now sixteen years of age! On this day sixteen years ago I was put on this earth, and it’s been one heck of a ride since. In celebration of this momentous occasion that only comes once in a lifetime, I decided to do the obvious: cross items off of my bucket list. While I did not accomplish as much as I had originally intended, I am still very pleased the outcome of the day’s events.
This morning I started the day off right by opening my cards and gifts. Then my family and I made our way down to the river to carry out #83. Rent a paddle boat for an hour. When I was making my list, I intentionally put ‘for an hour’ because I was looking at rates online, and it seemed like the best way to go. However, due to currents, the rental guy suggested we only start with a half hour. Believe me, that was more than enough. We (my mom and I) circled the allotted space nearly three times, which proved to be more challenging that it seemed. That in itself was quite the leg workout… now throw in #84. Ride a tandem bike with somebody. Again, we opted for only a half hour, but to be honest, I could have ridden it for two more! It was so much fun, especially when your brother is ahead of you doing all of the work. We must have been quite the sight to see… After our exercise, I introduced the rest of the family to my latest culinary discovery, HuHot. Again, the meal was delicious. By the end of the trek, we were all too pooped to party, so we treated ourselves to an afternoon nap. When we all regained consciousness, it was cake time. Well, actually, turtle ice cream pie time. Delish! And what’s the best way to end an already super awesome day? With a fireworks display, of course! Our community days’ fireworks were supposed to be on Friday, but due to rain, it was postponed until today. To be perfectly honest, those were some of the biggest, brightest, and loudest fireworks I have ever witnessed in my life… I couldn’t help but feel like they were just for me (:
Again, I didn’t accomplish as much as I had hoped, but I still had a spectacular day overall, and that’s all I could ever ask for.
Love & Summer,
