Yes, my hair is crazy in these pictures! But, I guess I spoke too soon – as soon as I complain about having nothing to do, an opportunity presents itself. It went a little something like this… While I was on a walk with my dad, we decided to stop by the dollar store, just to kill some time. A roll of white duct tape, a pack of permanent markers, and a deck of playing cards later, we were on our way. Subsequently, I immediately began looking up duct tape tutorials on YouTube. Then of course, another obstacle hit me… about 98.9% of duct tape crafts require scissors. Who knew? My solution: nail trimmers. Not the actual clippers, but the three-inch scissor-y kind; the ones that always come in manicure sets, but yet seem to serve no practical fingernail purposes. Yeah, those. A bit pain-staking, but worth it in the end. As you can see in the pictures, the results of my efforts include a bracelet with a bow on it (that is surprisingly wearable) and a wallet, which has now been repossessed and decorated by the Meat (a.k.a. my little brother). I’m not quite sure what compelled me to try my hand at this, um, art form, but I suppose I could attribute it to my unresolved middle school desire to just simply do it. I have to say, it was not as fulfilling as my 13-year old self would have hoped. However, that’s a skill acquired, two hours of occupation, and most importantly, one more item off the list!
