Woah. Three whole days without a single post? Don’t worry, it doesn’t feel right to me either. However, I believe that it’s somewhat justified under my current circumstances; ever since Monday I have been packing, cleaning, and running around like a maniac, which can only mean one thing… it’s moving week! As much as I tried, I just couldn’t find the time to focus on the list. However, I managed to sprinkle some dew on the drought today, my last day as a Midwestern girl. Of course, it wouldn’t be done right if my partner in crime, Maggi, wasn’t there to help me accomplish this list item. After some strongly discouraged soliciting outside of our local grocery store (as marked by the signs), the quarter was, so we thought, strategically and firmly in place. While the latter was true, the former was not. Although we waited in her car on the edges of the parking lot for a solid twenty minutes, nobody took the bait. Supergluing? Check. Watching? Check. Laughing? Not so much. I’m disheartened that I’ll never know the true outcome of this bucket list item, but I suppose it comes with the territory.
However, there is one outcome that I can finally reveal to you all… the photography contest results are in! Drum roll please… I ended up placing twice! No blue ribbons, but my first photo of the dandelions took third place, and the last picture of The Meat won second. As much as I hate to admit it, I’m shocked my flowers didn’t place, but I’m not complaining! For my first shot at entering a legitimate photography contest, I have to say I’m pretty proud of myself. It just goes to prove that you’ll never know what you’re capable of until you try. Besides, I won six dollars, enough to cover parking!
I’m going to try to post as much as I can while we’re on the road and getting settled, but I have a hunch things are about to get bumpy around here… please bear with me during this time, your support means the world!
Love & Summer,
Sarah
